This weekend, Harpoon Brewery in Windsor, Vermont hosts the New England Barbecue Championships!
The 2007 Grand Champion, Lunchmeat, and Reserve Champion, The Anchormen, are both returning to defend their victories. I smell Smoke, iQue, and Purple Turtle, who placed 3rd through 5th in the top results, also return.
Pellet Envy (Leawood, Kansas), Smokin’ Triggers, (Alvarado, Texas), and The Slabs (Kansas City Missouri – because barbecue ain’t barbecue without some love from Kansas City), illustrate that the event is drawing teams from outside the Northeast corridor and shaping into a great contest.
Speaking of shape, with over 40 teams competing, the weekend should be both delicious and fattening. I can’t wait to BullyDown on some great barbecue!
